The Loveliness of Life

A Sacred Inscrutability

Jun 1, 2011

Saying For Today: This is, truly, the meaning of worship - simply to be, to enjoy, to look deeply and gratefully into the radiance and mystery of Life.

Welcome to OneLife Ministries, an online, interspiritual-integral ministry of Arem Nahariim-Samadhi and Love Light Fellowship. This site is here to lead you into a heart experience of Divine Presence, Who is Love. We recognize that of the Sacred in each one and celebrate the diversity of expressions of our Oneness in Grace. We are for peace and nonviolence, and equal rights and justice for all. I hope persons of varied wisdom paths will find inspiration here. Welcome!

Blessings,

SHANTI

PEACE

Shanti (Pali: Santi) simply means "peace". It’s a beautiful meaning and also a very beautiful sound. The shanti is repeated three times, as are many chants in Buddhism. In Buddhism as well as in Hinduism the threefold Shanti is generally interpreted as meaning the Threefold Peace in body, speech, and mind (i.e. peace in the entirety of one’s being).

Hindu teachings typically end with the words Om shanti shanti shanti as an invocation of peace, and the mantra is also used to conclude some Buddhist devotional ceremonies.

If we are aware of our life..., our way of looking at things, we will know how to make peace right in the moment, we are alive.

There's nothing left of me. I'm like a ruby held up to the sunrise. Is it still a stone, or a world made of redness? It has no resistance to sunlight.

In his book Good Morning Mary Sunshine, Chicago Tribune writer Bob Greene wrote of his daughter's first year of life. When Amanda began crawling, he observes:

This is something I'm having trouble getting used to. I will be in bed reading a book or watching TV. And I will look down at the foot of my bed and there will be Amanda's head staring back at me.

Apparently, I've become one of the objects that fascinates her.... It's so strange. After months of having to go to her, now she is choosing to come to me. I don't know quite how to react. All I can figure is she likes the idea of coming in and looking at me. She doesn't expect anything in return. I'll return her gaze and in a few minutes she'll decide she wants to be back in the living room and off she'll crawl again.

To grow as a spiritual Being, is to grow in our fascination and adoration of the Loveliness of Life. This Loveliness, being Gift, remains untouched by what we do to taint It with neediness and greediness. Life shines as brightly, regardless, and we have moments of renewed intimacy with Its Beauty and Inscrutability. This is all Mystery, and the more we surrender willingly into the Mystery, the more we become Its glad captive, and the more we fall in Love with the splendorous sacredness of this world and those who live here with us. We grow increasingly to adore Life, to enjoy basking in Its Presence. This is, truly, the meaning of worship - simply to be, to enjoy, to look deeply and gratefully into the radiance and mystery of Life.

The Essence of LOVE-Mysticism is to look "within," to find there the Light of G-D That is in Everyone...
